This program is intended for clinicians and care teams who play a key role in managing stroke recovery and long-term outcomes.

• Neurologists and Physiatrists (PM&R) will gain insight into the neurologic and rehabilitative aspects of post-stroke bowel dysfunction.
• Stroke and Neuro Nurses, Rehabilitation Nurses, and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) will benefit from evidence-based strategies to integrate bowel management into patient care plans.
• Occupational Therapists, Long-Term Care providers, and Home Care and Hospice teams will learn practical approaches to supporting patient comfort, dignity, and quality of life across care settings.

Jonathan D. Myers, MD, is a board-certified physiatrist specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 2005 and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago in 2009. Currently serving as the Medical Director of Rehabilitation Services at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center, he treats outpatients in the clinic and inpatients at the Gwen Neilsen Anderson Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Myers’ clinical focus includes spasticity management, spinal cord injury, stroke, traumatic brain injury, amputation and limb deficiencies, and cerebral palsy. As a spinal cord injury survivor, he leverages his personal experience to connect with his patients.
