The Impacts of Radiation Therapy: Radiation Dermatitis & Xerostomia (Dry Mouth)

Radiation dermatitis is extremely common among cancer patients, affecting up to 95% of patients who receive radiation therapy.1 ALOCANE® Plus has proven to be an effective solution for patients experiencing mild pain and itching caused by radiation dermatitis.

Active Ingredients of ALOCANE® Plus

Lidocaine HCL 4% For rapid pain relief or discomfort caused by skin irritation

Benzalkonium Chloride 0.13% Works as an antimicrobial agent by killing microorganisms and inhibiting their growth

Inactive ingredients include Aloe Vera and Vitamin E. The Aloe Vera works to hydrate damaged skin, soothe irritation and cool burns, while the Vitamin E naturally fights scars and accelerates healing for a wide range of minor burns caused by radiation therapy treatments.

Xerostomia (Dry Mouth) is a common side effect of radiation and chemotherapy cancer treatments. In fact, studies show that 64% of long-term survivors of head and neck carcinoma experience a moderate to severe degree of dry mouth for at least 3 years after conventional radiation therapy. 2 XyliMelts® is an all-natural oral adhering disc that slowly dissolves in the patient’s mouth, stimulating saliva to reduce and/or relieve dry mouth caused by current or past radiation treatments. Additionally, XyliMelts® is the only solution to be used through the night to relieve dry mouth while sleeping.
